Structure: This is the skeletal structure of an image. This layer is mainly the foundation on which all the other layers are built upon.

Black & White: Little more added depth with more tonal contrast and detail.

Structure: With alterations and depth, this brings the image to a level thats almost ready for colour.

Black & White: Even more depth and smoothness.

Structure: This is the beginning of a final composition. Alterations and corrections have been made to prepare the image for colour.

 

 

 

 

Stage 2: Colour

Colour: This thin layer of colour gives the viewer a good idea of the finished piece.

Structure: This is the muscular part of the image. Tone and colour add to the images realism.

 

Layer 5

Colour: The most important layer concerning colour. Most of the colours within this layer will be final.

Structure: This is the fleshy part of the image. Detail and the correct colours give an intense realistic look.

Colour: Added highlights brings the image to life.

Structure: More detail and the last remaining highlights brings the image to an almost finish.
