The Experience: Due to the freezing temperatures at the time of studying these otters, I managed to witness things that only these conditions would bring with them. One of the otters would play with the loose ice around the enclosure, happily rolling pieces around its body as a cat would with a ball of string. After various visits, I noticed the two otters shared some kind of bond. This behaviour was inspirational enough to produce an image I feel is unique and challenging at the same time.
The Painting: Playful otters grab my unsuspecting eye when they share a kiss. This painting is the second oil painting that I have produced. What I have aimed to capture within the image is a sense of a connection between the otters, a bond between the two as they share in the delight of a kiss.
